On June 27, 2026, West Georgia Gastroenterology Associates, in partnership with Tanner Healthcare, proudly sponsored the Women of Healthcare event at Sunset Hills Country Club. Created by Thelma Wiley-Lucas, MD, the gathering welcomed approximately 50 women physicians, advanced practice providers, and healthcare leaders for a day of education, collaboration, and encouragement.
The event focused on empowering women in healthcare through discussions on leadership, patient care, caring for aging parents, work-life balance, and supporting the next generation of women leaders. One memorable takeaway came from a guest who shared, “Life is made up of multiple phases—don’t put the expectation on yourself to achieve everything at once. Be okay where you are at the moment.”
By bringing together women who are dedicated to improving healthcare, the event reinforced the importance of supporting those who care for our community every day. West Georgia Gastroenterology Associates remains committed to advancing patient care through education, innovation, and early detection initiatives, including ongoing efforts to raise awareness about colorectal cancer prevention and screening.
